Women of Wind Energy (WoWE) launches application process for 2015 Rudd Mayer Memorial Fellowships

WoWE awards fellowships to women who are college students or recent graduates to attend the annual American Wind Energy Association WINDPOWER conference.

WoWE's WINDPOWER fellowship is dedicated to the memory of Rudd Mayer, a true Woman of Wind Energy.  The energy community greatly misses Rudd's amazing spirit, smiling face, sense of humor, and dedication to environmental issues, students and non-profit work.

The Rudd Mayer Memorial Fellowships support women to participate in WINDPOWER, attending seminars on current wind energy issues, viewing state-of-the-art technology, meeting women and men in the renewable energy field, and connecting with employers about potential internships or permanent positions.

WINDPOWER 2015 will be held from May 18-20 in Orlando, FL. The Fellowship covers the cost of travel to and from the WINDPOWER conference site, conference registration (and included meals), and lodging.

The Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. Rudd Mayer Fellows are selected by the WoWE Board of Directors, based on:

About Women of Wind Energy:

WoWE was founded in 2005 and works to promote the education, professional development, and advancement of women to achieve a strong diversified workforce and support a robust renewable energy economy.  Since that time, WoWE has grown to an organization with 35 local chapters in the US and Canada, an annual luncheon at WINDPOWER, and a growing grassroots network of more than 2,000 women and men.  In 2010, WoWE launched the first-ever WoWE Leadership Forum and will host its sixth forum in November 2015. The organization is supported through hundreds of volunteer hours and the generous contributions of GE Energy, the American Wind Energy Association, DNV GL and a large number of other leading renewable energy companies, as well as membership contributions.
